The Minister of Transportation and presidential hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says he is confident that 99 percent of Rivers delegates will vote for him during the party’s presidential primaries.
Amaechi, said this when he visited stakeholders of the party in Rivers State yesterday, ahead of the party’s primaries.
According to him, steps would be taken through a democratic process to ensure that those who emerge as statutory delegates, are the ones that will vote for him.
He revealed that someone had boasted of having a list of those who will not vote for him, adding that delegates have the right to choose who to vote.
He noted that delegates should not vote for him only because he is their son but, because he has the needed experience to pilot the affairs of the nation.
The former Rivers governor, also said people say he is stubborn simply because he is a principled man. “People say I am stubborn. When they say this, it is because I believe what is right is right and what is wrong is wrong.”
Amaechi, was accompanied to the party secretariat by Rivers governorship hopeful, Arch. Tonye Cole and some stakeholders of the party.
