Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe says with what transpired in yesterday’s election, Nigerians should forget about light, water and every other thing, and look for someone who can conduct free, fair and credible elections.
Abe, in a statement alleged that election materials were carted away by security agencies in the state to their paymasters who wrote results in favor of their preferred candidates.
According to him, all those who tried to speak against the act were arrested, including those who rejected money given to them to sell their votes.
He alleged that about 50 persons are currently in various detention centres across the state, because they stood against evil.
Abe, revealed that there is nothing new from what happened yesterday but the issue is, people were made to believe that the election will be different.
“I think that at this stage, Nigerians should forget about light, forget about water, forget about everything. Let us look for somebody who can conduct elections in which our votes can count and be counted. That is the foundation of democracy really. If we get it right, every other thing will come. Then the people can hire and fire those that run their affairs,” he said.
