The Independent National Electroral Commission in Rivers State says it is eighty percent ready for the elections next year.
Mark Usulor, Head of voters Education on INEC in Rivers State, said this at a two day ECOWAS workshop for journalists and political parties.
He also disclosed that the commission has received a total of six thousand eight hundred and sixty six Bimodal Voters Accreditation System machines BVAS.
He said the BVAS machines are in the state and kept in readiness for the 2023 elections.
Dr Emmanuel Okorodudu head of Democracy and good governance at the ECOWAS Commission on his part stressed the need for media practitioners to build contents that would build unity and peaceful coexistence ahead of next year’s election rather than those those that could breed crisis.
The theme of the workshop was “enhancing media and political parties roles in participatory governance process in Nigeria.”
