Sen. Godswill Akpabio has resigned from his position as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.
Akpabio’s Media aide Jackson Udom, disclosed this in a statement, today.
This follows the directive by President, Muhammadu Buhari for all appointees with political ambitions to resign on or before May 16 2022.
Akpabio, a presidential hopeful becomes the second Minister to resign from his position, after Emeka Nwajuiba, Minister of State for Education.
More political appointees are expected to resign in the coming days.
