The Rivers State House of Assembly says over 125 manhole covers have been stolen in Port Harcourt and its environs.
Victor Jumbo, Chairman of the Assembly Ad Hoc Committee on Manhole Theft disclosed this when he and members of the committee visited many facilities in the state capital and its environs.
He said manholes from Rumuola to Obiri-Kwere, Igwurita to the airport, down to Eneka, Eleme Bridge, have been removed.
He recommended that concrete be used as manhole covers to make it less lucrative for stealing.
