The People’s Democratic Party in Rivers State, has charged newly elected Chairmen of the 23 local government areas of the state, to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people, when they are sworn into office.
Chairman of the party in Rivers State, Amb. Desmond Akawor disclosed this when the newly elected chairmen paid him a courtesy visit at the party’s Secretariat in Port Harcourt.
Amb. Akawor urged the chairmen to keep to their campaign promises and follow the footsteps of the state governor.
He advised them to work with their Vice Chairmen and councilors in piloting the affairs of their various councils.
Akawor also advised the chairmen to make security and the protection of lives and properties their top priority, as he encouraged them to ensure proper management of council funds.
