Winnie Miller, who was allegedly attacked after posting images of the dilapidated structure of a school in Odiokwu Community in Ahoada West Local Government Area, says she has refunded the ₦2.5 million sent to her by the Chairman of the council, Hon. Eugene Cheta Epelle.
Miller in a statement said transparency is very important to her, adding that she wanted the public to know that the money had been returned in full.
According to her, she had made it clear from the beginning that she could not be bribed or silenced, stressing that her stand has always been for truth, accountability, and doing what is right for her community.
She explained that the decision to return the money was to ensure that her integrity would not be questioned.
“Today, that money has been returned in full because I will never compromise my integrity for any amount of money,” she said.
Miller added that the issue is not about personal gain but about justice, transparency, and ensuring that the right thing is done.
She maintained that she would continue to stand for the truth despite any pressure, insisting that justice must be served.
