The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru, has credited the party’s victory in the recent Federal Capital Territory (FCT) local government elections to what he described as the “sterling performance” of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Basiru noted that although Wike is not a member of the APC, the massive infrastructural development recorded in the FCT over the past two and a half years played a significant role in boosting the party’s chances at the polls.
According to him, the impact of the minister’s projects is visible not only in the city centre but also across satellite towns and suburban communities within the territory.
He argued that residents acknowledged the improvements in infrastructure and service delivery, which ultimately translated into electoral support for the APC during the council elections.
Basiru maintained that good governance and tangible development remain key factors in winning the trust and votes of the electorate.
