The Rivers State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress has reacted to the gifting of judicial officers with 41 SUVs in the state, few days ago.
Beatrice Itubor, Chairperson of the NLC in the state described the act by the state government as a “misplaced priority.”
Beatrice who made this known while appearing in a radio programme Today, in Port Harcourt, said the money would have been enough to pay so many retirees their gratuity.
She said despite complaints by the government that they are unable to pay the new minimum wage, and others due to lack of funds, they still went ahead to splash millions of naira on cars for judicial officers.
