Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu has warned members of the party to desist from attacking one another.
Ayu, who said this during the National Executive Committee meeting of the party, was reacting to the recent war of words between Governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and his Edo State counterpart, Godwin Obaseki.
According to him, members of the party are expected to unite and work for the success of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
He also stated that issues amongst party members must be settled internally, as the party has different organs to resolve different issues.
“No party member should attack another party member. If there are any issues. We have different organs of the party to resolve issues,” he said.
“We are talking to individual members who have differences among themselves, whether in the ward, local government, state or national level because such distraction must not be allowed to continue.
“Where there are problems, the national working committee and other leaders of national organs of the party will put heads together to resolve the difference,” he added.
