A pro-Ogoni group, the Ogoni Youth Development Initiative(OYDI), has accused Governor Nyesom Wike of treating the people of Ogoni as “second class citizens.”
President of the group, Imeabe Saviour who disclosed this in a statement in Port Harcourt, yesterday, equally accused Wike of not being sincere to the Ogonis.
He, also alleged that the Governor was using Julius Berger in the construction of projects in his Local Government Area, but not doing the same in other Areas.
Part of the statement reads;
“The Ogoni Youth Development Initiative, OYDI, is in deep regret over the attitude of the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, toward the people of Ogoni ethnic nationality”.
“Right from the inception of his administration, the governor has often professed love for the Ogoni people, but from the recent events, it is becoming glaring that the governor does not have Ogoni people in his good book”
“He is using Julius Berger to construct roads in Port Harcourt and Obio/Akpor, why did he not use same to do the Saakpenwa road if he is sincere with the people”.
