Govrnor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has threatened to disband the State Waste Management Agency, RIWAMA, if they fail to rid the state of wastes within one week.
Wike who disclosed this in a state-wide broadcast at Government House Port Harcourt, on Friday, said the government will no longer accept excuses from the Agency.
The Governor, also warned that Taskforce officials who indulge in illegal activities would face the full weight of the law.
He said such act was what led to the dissolution of the previous Tasforce and that the government would not hesitate to dissolve the current Taskforce, if they deviate from their core mandate.
He said those arrested for various crimes would be prosecuted in accordance we the the laws of the land.
Wike, called on Rivers people to continue obeying the state-wide curfew as it is not to punish anyone but for the security of lives and properties.
