Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has said that lack of courage is becoming widespread among judges, which is undermining public confidence and desecrating the judiciary.
Wike, disclosed this during the 61st annual conference of the Nigeria Bar Association in Port Harcourt, Today.
He stated that lack of courage among judges is also weakening public confidence in the judiciary.
He said the slow pace of Justice delivery is encouraging injustice in the judiciary, and that “justice delayed is justice denied.”
The governor, stressed that the Bar has greater responsibility to promote and protect the rights of Nigerians at all times but has not lived up to it.
He urged the NBA to put measures in place to address some of the problems bedeviling the association.
