Barely 24 hours after former Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi, returned to Rivers State to consult with his supporters, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, arrived the state on Thursday evening.
Wike, who was accompanied by a heavy security detail, is reportedly in the state to pay a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Emmanuel Aguma, following the death of their matriarch, Chief Dame Hannah Aguma.
Amaechi had returned to Port Harcourt on Wednesday to rally support for the emerging coalition under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), drawing a massive crowd of loyalists.
Wike’s visit comes amid growing political activity in the state ahead of the 2027 elections.
