Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has described the impeachment of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Edo state House of Assembly by 17 members of the house as a “charade.”
Wik, who made this known in a statement Today said, the PDP will resist any attempt by the assembly members to impeach the state governor.
“Consequently, the purported impeachment of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker is a mere charade, completely a futile act that exists only in the imagination of the evil perpetrators and their co-travelers.
He stated that the APC is planning on rigging the forthcoming governorship election but assured Edo people that the PDP will resist any such attempt.
He furthermore called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the international community to ensure a free, fair and credible poll in Edo State.
