The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has described former members that recently defected to the People’s Democratic Party, as a handful of “bread and butter” politicians.
Reacting to claims by its former Chairman, Davies Ikanya that he was the only elected Chairman of the party, Ogbonna Nwuke described Ikanya as a laughable character.
He said his inability to lead a robust party such as the APC, and their discovery of the underhand game he was playing with the PDP all through his tenure; was responsible for the uprising against his leadership.
He also said Gov. Wike once described Ikanya as man who is more interested in the colour of his skin, adding that they only have pity for him and Igo Aguma, whom he described as an imposter.
“We only have pity for Chief Davies Ikanya and Hon. Igo Aguma. While Aguma, an imposter, was never a chairman of the APC, Ikanya who claims to be the only elected chairman of the party is a mere laughable character,” he said.
“Governor Wike has once described Chief Ikanya as a person who is more interested in the colour of his skin. Our discovery of his inability to lead a robust party such as the APC; our discovery of the underhand game he was playing with the PDP all through his tenure; was responsible for a mass uprising against his leadership,” he added.
In addition, he said the defection of such “bread and butter” politicians, is good news for the party.
