The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, on Thursday commissioned the 9.450-kilometre rigid pavement Ogu internal road network and a 1,500-capacity NDDC Royal Hall in Ogu Kingdom, Rivers State.
The projects were executed by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) as part of its ongoing developmental initiatives across the Niger Delta region.
Wike carried out the commissioning alongside the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, and the Commission’s Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Hon. Alabo Boma Iyaye.
Speaking at the event, officials described the projects as critical infrastructure aimed at improving connectivity, boosting local economic activities, and enhancing social development within the host communities.
The road network is expected to ease movement within Ogu and surrounding areas, while the NDDC Royal Hall is designed to serve as a hub for social, cultural, and community events.
