The Chief, Tony Okocha-led faction of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, has said that the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike is not interested in who becomes State Chairman of the party.
Publicity Secretary of the party, Chibuike Ikenga said this in reaction to claims that Wike wants to install his protege as Chairman of the party.
According to him, Wike is not a member of the APC, and is not interested in who becomes Chairman of the party in the State, and urged people to disregard the claims.
He described Wike as a friend to the President who is working to see the administration of President, Tinubu succeed.
As you may the APC held its ward Congress last Saturday, November 16th 2024 despite claim of a Court injunction restraining it from doing so by the Emeka Beke-led faction.
Meanwhile, the party’s Local Government Congress has been scheduled for this Saturday, November 23 while the State Congress will take place on Saturday, November 30.
The outcome of these congresses is expected to set the tone for the party’s organizational structure in the state.
