Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has revealed that the almost completed Real Madrid Academy in the state will commence formal training in sports and other academic activities in September.
Nyesom Wike disclosed this after inspecting the level of work done at the academy in Port Harcourt, yesterday. He also commended the contractor for the work done. The construction according to the governor is nearing its completion stage.
Wike emphasised that the contractors need to ensure completion and handing over of the project by August 2020.
The state-owned Real Madrid Football Academy in Port Harcourt is among numerous projects currently under construction in the state. The Academy seeks to promote professional football and allow for discovery and harnessing of football talents in the state.
