The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate, Christopher Maikalangu, ahead of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) election scheduled for February 21, 2026.
Maikalangu, who currently serves as AMAC Chairman, is seeking re-election. Wike commended him for his contributions to key development projects in the FCT, describing him as a driving force behind many of the administration’s successes.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the construction of an access road bypassing the airport’s second runway—from Bill Clinton Drive to Tunga Madaki settlement—the minister urged residents of the capital city to reward Maikalangu’s performance with another term in office.
The project, which includes a four-span bridge, is expected to ease transportation within the area and improve connectivity around the airport corridor.
