Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, has donated the sum of N50 million to the Theatre Arts Department of the University of Port Harcourt.
This was for their excellent display during the commissioning of the State Rehabilitation Center, Iriebe in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area on Friday.
The Governor, who said he was impressed with the performance of the students, said the money is to support them to become professionals in their chosen career.
Wike, also commended the Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, over what he described as the success of the ministry and donated the sum of N200 million to enable them run the centre.
He explained that any government that does not take care of the less privileged in the society is doomed to fail.
