Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has donated the sum of twenty million Naira to each of the families of the Police Officers killed by suspected kidnappers along the Rumuokoro flyover bridge few weeks ago.
The governor announced the donation during the Rivers State Emblem Appeal Fund Launching that held on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Port Harcourt.
The Police officers were gunned down by heavily armed gunmen while escorting the Managing Director of an Oil and gas company.
Wike also commended the Rivers State police command for tracking down the killers of the three police officers.
He also launched the Emblem with the sum of N50M and urged the Federal Government to as a matter of duty have a comprehensive welfare program captured in the budget to take care of the families of fallen heroes rather than to solicit support for emblem launch yearly.
