Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has denied having any rift with the National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Uche Secondus.
Wike, disclosed this during a media chat in Government House, Port Harcourt, while reacting to a statement by Babangida Aliyu that a politician who wants to be a dictator from River State, was behind the issues faced by Secondus in the party.
The Governor, blasted Aliyu accusing him of being a mole of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike said in politics there is bound to be disagreement on certain issues, but that cannot be classified as a rift.
He said it is unfortunate that the PDP has continued to allow Aliyu, remain a member of its highest decision making body after he publicly confessed to working with others to frustrate Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid in 2015.
“Aliyu Babangida is a mole in PDP. These are people who get information and in the night they go to the ruling party (APC) and give them the information,” he said.
“The same Aliyu in 2017 was one of those who opposed Secondus to be chairman of the party. He only came on board at the dying minute when he knew Secondus was coasting to victory,” Wike added.
In addition, Wike said he was not aware if the PDP national chairman is at loggerheads with stakeholders of the party in Rivers State.
