Spokesperson of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Solomon Lenu has alleged that Governor Nyesom Wike has offered overseas scholarship to one thousand students from Obio/Akpor and Port Harcourt City Local Government Areas.
Lenu, who made this known in a statement Today, said the students are to choose any university of their choice.
According to him, the scholarship is being secretly coordinated through the Obio/Akpor Council and funded by the state government.
“Wike gives foreign scholarship to 1000 Obio-Akpor & Phalga Ikwerre students to study abroad in any university of their choice worldwide.“
“This arrangement is being secretly coordinator through Obio-Akpor LGA to be funded by state Gov’t.“
“Sad part is that, this was the same Gov who repatriated Rivers students already on gov’t scholarship back home.”
“I say a big shame unto any Ogóni son still doing PDP. What a nepotic human being,” his statement read.
The state government is yet to react to the allegation.
