The Rivers State Police Command says its officers are stationed at the Oginigba market in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area to maintain peace and enforce a court order.
The state commissioner of Police, Mustapha Mohammed made this known in a statement on Thursday.
According to him, there is a court order restraining trading activities, and urged those aggrieved with the order to seek redress in Court.
As you may know, some Police officers stormed the market on Monday and chased traders away, weeks after it was reopened by the council Chairman, Chijioke Ihunwo.
Ihunwo had in a statement accused the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of ordering the Police to takeover the market.
