The Chief of the Naval Staff, CNS, EI Ogalla says some people go abroad to buy ships because they are not aware that the Nigerian Navy constructs ships.

According to him, the Navy has been into local ship building and repairs for sometime now, but a lot of people are not aware due to lack of proper publicity and awareness, and urged its Shipyard and dockyard to increase its level of publicity.

“We are encouraging the Shipyard and dockyard to go into publicity to be able to make their work to be seen. Actually, why many people go abroad to buy some of these things we can do is lack of knowledge as a result of what we call sea blindness. the CNS said.

The Chief of Naval Staff who said efforts are on to ensure Nigerians know what they are doing the Ibom ferry, sick bay, administration block. Also inspected were 10 flat bottom asphalt bolt for operations among others.
