Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Dr. Paul Enenche, has explained his decision to reject a N30 million donation from Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, during a recent crusade in the state.
Speaking during a Sunday service at the church’s headquarters in Abuja, Enenche said the refusal was in line with a long-standing policy of not accepting funds from government sources. According to him, the principle is aimed at preserving the independence of his ministry and avoiding any form of political influence.
The cleric emphasized that his action was not a slight against Governor Idris but a continuation of a standard he has upheld for more than 20 years.
“For some people, that may be a surprise because they don’t know who we are. But those who know us, that’s no surprise at all. That’s how we’ve lived, and that’s what we’ve stood for,” he said.
Enenche also recounted previous occasions where he declined monetary gifts, including honorariums offered after delivering sermons at national events, underscoring his commitment to that conviction.
