Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Chijioke Ihunwo has revealed why he presented cars to his Vice, principal officers of the council and 17 councillors of the LGA.
Ihunwo, during the presentation on Saturday said the decision was made to facilitate their official duties and enhance their mobility in serving the local government.
He said, “We have given out vehicles to my Vice, principal officers, and seventeen Councillors of Obio/Akpor local government area of Rivers State. This decision was made to facilitate their official duties and enhance their mobility in serving the local government. For instance, the Vice can now attend important meetings and events promptly, showcasing our commitment to efficiency and effectiveness in governance.
“The principal officers, on the other hand, can now conduct visits and inspections more conveniently, ensuring that projects are implemented smoothly and according to plan.
‘Additionally, the Councillors can now reach out to constituents in distant areas, fostering better communication and understanding between the government and the people.
“By providing these vehicles, we aim to support our team in delivering their responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
