Labour Party governorship candidate in Rivers State, Beatrice Itubor has revealed why she contested the March 18 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.
Itubo in a statement said the former governor, Nyesom Wike’s hatred for civil servants made her join the race, and not because she wanted to show herself up to Rivers people.
According to her, workers were maltreated and impoverished by the previous administration, adding that for eight years no worker was promoted in the state.
“We have been in the struggle for a very long time and when the immediate past governor of Rivers State came on board, I saw something different,” she said.
“I saw real hatred for the workers of Rivers State. I don’t know any other language that I will use other than that hatred, because someone who will be in power for eight years, didn’t promote any worker in Rivers State,” she added.
