Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe has revealed why the party chose Dr. Patricia Ogbonnaya as his running mate.
Abe, during the unveiling of Dr. Patricia in Port Harcourt on Saturday, said they chose her because they needed someone who can add value to the ticket, and serve as the state governor in his absence.
He said the running mate was not chosen because they wanted a woman but, due to the fact that she has the capacity to truly govern, and help in transforming the state.
According to him, the party consulted widely before Dr. Patricia was chosen, describing her as a true leader who is committed, God-fearing and loyal.
He said his running mate has started adding value to the ticket as people have been identifying with the party because of her.
He disclosed that they did not choose someone from Kalabari region because the outgoing Deputy Governor hails from the region, and there was no need to offer them the same position.
Abe, further said that Dr. Patricia who hails from Ekpeye kingdom was chosen for the sake of justice and equity, and described her as “beauty with brains.
