Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has shared fresh insight into his evolving spiritual identity, revealing that he was raised as a Christian before later converting to Islam in his quest for deeper understanding.
The ‘City Boy’ star made the disclosure during a recent live discussion with American streamer PlaqueBoyMax, where he spoke candidly about his beliefs and the complexity of organised religion.
“I grew up as a Christian, and then I converted to Islam. I have studied it all, and I am still finding out what is really going on. The more I research, the more confused I get,” he said.
Burna Boy noted that his spiritual exploration continues to shape his worldview, adding that his ultimate focus is forging a personal relationship with a higher power rather than strictly adhering to traditional religious structures.
