Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has called on the National Judicial Council, NJC, to allow judges do their jobs.
Wike, said this during the swearing-in of four new judges of the State High Court at Government House, Port Harcourt on Friday.
He lamented the high level of intimidation of judges by the NJC, adding that there will be increased intimidation of judges next year.
He advised the new judges to be firm in the discharge of their duties, and not to look at anybody’s face while delivering judgement.
Wike, disclosed that everyone will not be happy with their judgements but they should put on their glasses as if they see no one and do their job.
“…Not everyone will be happy with your judgement, wear your glasses as if you don’t see anybody and do your work. After that, remove your glasses,” he said.
