The governorship candidate of All Progressive Congress in Rivers State, Pastor Tonye Cole has vowed to go after those who attempted to disrupt his campaign rally in Omumma today.
Viral photos and videos currently trending on social media showed canopies, vehicles and public address systems allegedly destroyed by thugs suspected to be members of opposition parties who tried to stop the APC rally in Ebere Omumma today.
Reacting to the incident, Tonye Cole alleged the incident was carried out by Thugs and Police officers under the cover of Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, the PDP candidate for Etche/Omumma Federal Constituency. He vowed to go after them.
“We are coming. Regardless of what you do we will be there, we would hold our rally and not let you get away with this” he said.
“Anyone who thinks they can stop us is mistaken. Not only we would make it to the government house, we would come after you. We would use the long arm of the law to bring you don’t” he added.
He said the APC would not allow anarchy in the state and the state would be peaceful. As of the time of filing this report, the Rivers State Police Command is yet to say anything about this.
