Factional Rivers State All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman, Tony Okocha, has announced that suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara is expected to return to office by September 18. Okocha stated that APC members and the party’s newly elected local government chairmen would support Fubara’s administration while reserving the right to critique policies when necessary.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Okocha commended the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), security agencies, and the media for ensuring a peaceful, credible, and violence-free local government election.
He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to attracting key political figures, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, and other influential stakeholders across the state.
