The All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, says it will win the gubernatorial election in the state come 2023.
Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in the state, Isaac Ogbogbula said this in a chat with members of the Correspondents’ chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, in Port Harcourt, over the weekend.
He said Rivers people are in love with the APC, stating that nothing will stop them from occupying Brick House, after the end of Governor Wike’s tenure in 2023.
He said the crises that rocked the party are not unusual, as there must be contest, and some measures of conflict in every group.
Ogbogbula said they made sure that every of their disagreements did not escalate because what happened to the party, could happen to any political party.
He stated that the Rivers APC, is a party that nobody should ignore. “It is not a paper party or a social media club or an organisation, but a political party properly registered and credible in the state,” he added.
The party had few days ago criticized approval of a ninth flyover by the current administration, describing the move as lopsided, which is denying other parts of the state an opportunity for sustainable growth and progress.
They also said the government is busy siting overhead bridges in an uncharitable, unplanned and irrational manner, when millions of Rivers youths are not gainfully employed.
