Senate President Godswill Akpabio has assured that the National Assembly will intervene decisively to resolve the lingering political crisis in Rivers State.
Speaking on Thursday at the commissioning of the Kugbo Taxi and Bus Terminal in the Federal Capital Territory, Akpabio said the legislature is committed to restoring political stability and peace in the state.
He revealed that steps are already being taken to address the underlying causes of the crisis and promote reconciliation among the feuding parties.
“We are determined to ensure that normalcy returns to Rivers State. The National Assembly will work closely with all parties involved to ensure lasting peace and progress for the people,” he stated.
The crisis in Rivers State, which erupted three months ago, led to the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the State House of Assembly.
