Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi says the All Progressives Congress, will ensure they recover the state in 2023.
Amaechi, who disclosed this in a statement over the weekend, said 80 percent of those who left the party are political merchants.
He urged party members to ignore those that left, adding that they are also free to leave if they are not satisfied with the leaders he wants.
The former governor, stated that anywhere he goes, Rivers people come to beg him to help them, as they are suffering in the state.
Amaechi, noted that when he was governor, he made sure contractors were paid and money was in circulation in the state.
“Everywhere I go, I meet people that i don’t know are from Rivers state and all they tell me is ‘please sir help us. Rivers State has gone bad.’ There are no schools anymore,” he said.
“When I was governor, I made sure that contractors were paid. When you pay contractors, they pay their workers, when they pay their workers, they go to the market. Today, contractors are those in government…,” he added.
