Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Rivers State, Sen. Magnus Abe says people of the state will not be trained to be polling unit advisers but, engineers and doctors amongst other good areas if elected governor of the state.
Abe said this during a meeting with a group known as Y23 Progressives in Port Harcourt on Saturday.
“We will not train Rivers children to be polling unit advisers but will train them to be engineers, medical doctors and other good areas,” he said
The group made up of young Rivers men and women endorsed Abe during the meeting, and declared him the best man to transform the state.
Abe who commended the group said the party is on course to win next year’s elections.
Earlier, the Action Peoples Party (APP) in Khana LGA endorsed Senator Magnus Abe ahead of the 2023 polls.
Leader of the APP in Khana and Khana State Constituency 2 candidate of the party, Mr Tuaka Sunday Wikina made the endorsement today at Freedom House in Port Harcourt Today.
“No reasonable person who means well for Rivers State will see the best Governorship candidate in the race and allow party affiliation and unhelpful sentiments to becloud his sense of reasoning,” he said.
“Senator Magnus Abe , by thousands of miles, is the best Governorship candidate in the race for the Brick House in 2023 and all well-meaning Rivers people across party lines should support him to restore the glory of our state that has been lost to the present absurdities we are witnessing today”.
“On behalf of my party the APP in Khana, we endorse you Senator Abe as our Governorship candidate. All our teeming supporters are in tune with this decision and we will work hard to mobilize votes for you”, he added.
Abe in his response, commended Mr Wikina for the confidence reposed in him and for the partnership to better Rivers State.
“We will work together and win together for the good of Rivers State”, he said.
