The Rivers State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) says its membership has risen to over 800,000, following the defection of prominent political figures to the party.
Spokesman Luckyman Igila, addressing a press conference in Port Harcourt at the weekend, said the new entrants include two former governors — Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia — as well as former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, alongside some federal lawmakers.
Igila described the party as “a beautiful bride” ahead of the 2027 elections, adding that the ADC in Rivers State has been “receiving key politicians into its fold” in recent months.
