Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says peace has returned to Rivers State and will be sustained following the lifting of the state of emergency.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Wike said, “We know what we would have done to extend the emergency rule if we didn’t want it lifted.”
The minister explained that leaders in the state had to put aside their differences in the overall interest of the people. He commended President Bola Tinubu for ending the emergency rule, stressing that he fully supported the decision.
According to him, stakeholders are happy with the development, as it marks the consolidation of peace in Rivers State.
