The Rivers State University says the State Government, has released the sum of N16.6 billion for the construction of three new campuses in different parts of the state.
Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Nlerum Sunday Okogbule made this known in a statement, as part of activities to mark his one year in office, today.
He said in the next one week, adverts will be out for contractors to submit their bids for construction of the campuses.
The VC noted that they have started clearing the sites as actual construction will begin in no time.
He also said they are working with the Bureau of Public Procurement to help in the award of contracts to qualified contractors.
In addition, Prof. Okogbule said the institution did not loose a single academic session, due to the COVID-19 because of its effective and efficient E-learning system.
