The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that supporters of President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State do not require Governor Siminalayi Fubara to mobilize backing for the president ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Wike made the remark during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Secretariat in Port Harcourt.
According to the former Rivers State governor, Tinubu’s loyalists in the state already possess a strong political structure made up of members of the National Assembly, state lawmakers, and local government chairmen.
He stated that the group has the capacity to organize and deliver support independently of the state governor.
Wike further disclosed that party stakeholders and supporters have begun making financial commitments toward President Tinubu’s 2027 campaign.
“We don’t need a governor to mobilize for President Tinubu. We have what it takes to be on our own. We have the senators, assembly members, local government chairmen, national assembly members, and party chairmen of APC and PDP,” he said. “We have mobilized ourselves to make commitments to donate towards the campaign for President Tinubu in 2027.”
