The Rivers State Commissioner of Health, Prof. Princewill Chike has said that the state does not need the help of Chinese doctors to fight the COVID-19. This is because the Wike led Government has put all measures in place to curb the virus.
Chike while answering questions by journalists yesterday in Port Harcourt said, doctors in the state are capable of winning the fight. When asked about the 250-bed capacity isolation center at Eleme, he said the facility is fully equipped and almost ready. He, therefore, urged Rivers people to disregard any information not coming from the state government.
The Federal Government had earlier announced that some Chinese doctors have been invited to the country to aide in the fight against COVID-19.
The medical team which arrived Nigeria from China on Tuesday were received by the Minister of Health. Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
