–As The Remains of Late Justice Azunda Is Laid To Rest In Isiodu-Emohua

The chairman of Emohua local government area, Hon Chidi Lloyd , DSSRS, has reiterated the call for a collective responsibility in the fight against crime and criminality in the area.
He said the fight against insecurity and other related social vices in Emohua local government area requires the collaboration and support of all well-meaning indigenes and residents of the area, stressing that no meaningful progress can be achieved in an atmosphere devoid of peace and security.
In his brief address at the funeral ceremony held in honour of Late Justice Azunda in Isiodu-Emohua on Saturday, Dr. Lloyd reiterated his administration’s commitment towards the security of lives and properties in the area.
The council chairman promised to ensure that everyone involved in the assassination of Late Justice Azunda is made to face the full weight of the law.
“We will redouble our effort to ensure that everybody is free to stay peacefully in Emohua local government area but we also need the support and cooperation of indigenes and residents, because the issue of security is a collective responsibility.
“We cannot make any meaningful progress without peace and security, that is why all hands must be on deck in the fight against crime and criminality, and other social vices in Emohua local government area.
“As a government, I want to reassure you that while God is doing his own investigation on the death of our brother, Justice Azunda, we are also doing our own investigation and we will live no stone unturned; whoever had a hand in his death must pay for it, I can assure that.
The Emohua council Boss further promised to ensure that his administration gives attention to the welfare of the family of Late Justice Azunda, who was kidnapped when he attended a meeting in his community (Isiodu-Emohua) on Sunday 4th June 2023 and was later murdered by his abductors.
According to Dr. Lloyd: “It is not enough to attend the funeral of Late Justice Azunda, we should also try to see what we can do for the family. What is more important now is that the deceased left a family behind. We will be there for them as long as I remain the chairman of Emohua local government area”.
In his remarks, the immediate past chief of staff Rivers State Government House and serving Commissioner for Special Projects, Chief Engr Chukwuemeka Woke, described the Late Justice Azunda as a diligent and dependable ally whose death has left a vacuum in his political family.
Chief Emeka Woke who broke down in tears while giving his tribute, prayed God to unravel the mystery behind the kidnap and murder of Late Justice Azunda who until his unfortunate demise was his chief protocol officer.
The funeral service was conducted by the Alpha and Omega Fountain of Souls Ministry (Inc) and was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, within and outside Emohua local government area.
Thereafter, Dr. Chidi Lloyd honoured the funeral ceremony held in honor of Late Sir Joseph Amakolonwa Nwala, aged 107 years in Abara, Etche local government area, where the council chairman joined other guests to observe what could be best described as a celebration of life.
