Rivers State Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu has given an update on the work done by the state Flood Management Committee to mitigate the effect of flood on victims.
Odu in a statement on Tuesday, said the State Flood Committee has visited impacted communities, encouraged them and continued to provide them with food stuffs, toiletries, and medical drugs to alleviate the hardship on the affected people.
According to her, the committee has continued to work within its mandate in providing requisite relief materials to people affected by flood with such impacted communities.
The Deputy Governor explained that, so far, the State Flood Committee is deploying its second phase action, which is mitigation of flood effect on the people.
