The Rivers State Police Command says it is currently carrying out a search operation, to ensure the release of the abducted Ikuru monarch and a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni in a Statement today, said the police is currently combing the creeks in search of the abductors.

He stated that the force would do everything within its power to ensure the release of all those abducted.

Meanwhile, Spokesperson of the University of Port Harcourt, Sam Kpenu has condemned the abduction of the lecturer.

Kpenu in a chat with Journalists today, called for the unconditional release of the lecturer with the department of Linguistics.
