The Rivers State Police Command says it is investigating the killing of a man by a masquerader during a traditional festival at Abam Community in Okirika Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, Grace Koko disclosed this in a statement.
She said the masquerader hit the victim with a stick on the head, adding that he was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“Police are investigating the incident. A masquerade performing used a stick to hit a young man’s head. The victim was immediately taken to a hospital where he was confirmed dead,” she said.
“The matter has been reported to the police and we are investigating it. The suspect has run away but we are trailing him,” she added.
