The Executive Chairman Of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area Hon Barr George Ariolu today 5th October, 2023, recieved members of Elelenwo Council of Chiefs led by HRH. Eze Sunny Weli Chuku JP, Nyewe Eli Elelenwo Etor at the Council Secretariat, Rumuodomaya.
Giving His Remarks, Barr George Ariolu DSSRS congratulated Eze Sunny Weli on the Elevation of His Traditional Stool and thanked him for the visit.
“Your Royal Highness, let me specially thank you for this very important visit. When we recieve our people this way, it is an indication that there is something we are doing differently that is attracting the attention of our people. It is an encouragement and it spurs us to do more for our people.”
“Let me also use this opportunity to congratulate you on your recognition as Second Class Traditional Ruler by the Rivers State Government. This elevation puts you in charge of your people’s welfare and sustainability. “
The Council Boss while recognising the efforts of Eze Sunny Weli in promoting peace in Elelenwo Community, described Hon. O. K. Chinda, an Elelenwo Son…as a blessing to the entire people of Evo.
“Elelenwo is an urbanised community and they are living peacefully. Thank you Eze for sustaining the peace in your community because peace is paramount for growth and development in every society. “
“Elelenwo is a blessed community and made of great people. I must specially recognise Hon. O. K. Chinda for his numerous contributions to my political career and being a true Evo son who stands for his People.”
Speaking Further, Barr Ariolu stated that he and his team are fulfilled because they have impacted in the lives of the people and that the multiplier effect of this impact is for the growth of Obio/Akpor in the future.
“For us, we are fulfilled as a team working for the people of Obio/Akpor because it is a promise that we made to the people and I am very grateful to God that we have achieved our purpose. As an Evo Son, I am happy that I have made my people proud.”
” I believe in the principle of competence and quality leadership and I am happy that I have made my mark. We are happy that we are impacting directly in the lives of our people and we are hoping that in the future the beneficiaries of our programs will also empower other obio Akpor sons and daughters.”
On His Part, HRH Eze Dr Sunny Weli Chuku JP, Nyewe Eli Elelenwo Etor applauded the Chairman for making Obio/Akpor People proud and implementing people oriented policies.
“Chairman today we are very grateful that you have removed shame from our eyes. The story before was that we do not know the rudiments of leadership but today the story is different and you have made us proud.”
“The Council has been given an outstanding facelift, you have invested in both human capacity and infrastructural development too numerous to mention and Elelenwo people are beneficiaries. May God bless you. You are a man of your words and you have done amazing things for our people and Elelenwo people will be a support system for you.”
Giving The Vote Of Thanks, Hon Barr Ejims Enwukwe, Former Commissioner For Budget and Planning, Rivers State, thanked the chairman for his remarkable contributions to the people of Obio/Akpor and for changing the negative narratives associated with the local government area. He encouraged him to continue setting the pace and changing the narratives.
