The Independent National Electoral Commission in Rivers State, has said that the continuous voters registration will begin on June 28, across the country.

Obo Effanga, Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, disclosed this during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

He also said the commission is set to convert the 2424 voting points in the state into polling units, which will make it a total of 6866 polling units.

He said the state currently has a total of 4,442 polling units and that such exercise was last carried out in the state, 25 years ago.

The state REC, stated that Polling Units will only be sited in public locations, as he noted that they cannot be sited in private residents, royal palaces and other unauthorized places.
