Mr. Victor Ugochukwu a 100-level Student of Political Science at the Ignatius Ajuri University of Education has been named “The 2020, Student of the Year” by the Management of the institution.
The young student was honoured for picking up and returning a sophisticated smart phone worth thousands of naira to the owner on campus.
The Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Professor Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele, who commended the student for the kind gesture said the school is committed to celebrating excellence. He, therefore, urged other students to emulate Victor Ugochukwu.
Mr. Ugochukwu for his act, was awarded with a Certificate of Honour; four years comprehensive scholarship; and a refund of his first year school fees.
The management of the school equally noted that his photograph will be displayed on the University’s Electronic Billboard of Excellence for a period of 6 months.
Meanwhile, some stakeholders and students have taken to different social media platforms to commend the student for the act.
